Carolina Expressways, Inc. is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business based in Norfolk, Virginia. Founded in October 2025, we are an FMCSA-licensed and fully bonded freight brokerage built to bring operational discipline, strategic thinking, and genuine customer commitment to the freight brokerage industry.
Our founder's approach was shaped by 18+ years in logistics, military operations, and consulting, including service as a U.S. Army officer and more than a decade at Deloitte Consulting LLP, advising government and public-sector leaders on supply chain transformation. Today we apply that experience to freight: technology-enabled visibility, data-driven insight, proactive communication, accountable service.

Ted founded Carolina Expressways in October 2025 to bring greater discipline, transparency, and accountability to freight brokerage. Across 18+ years spanning U.S. Army operations and twelve years as a strategy and operations consultant in Deloitte’s Government & Public Services practice, he saw a clear gap in the market: shippers needed freight partners who could combine operational precision, technology, strategic thinking, and genuine commitment to customer success.
His approach was shaped by service as a U.S. Army Armor officer during Operations Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn, including command as executive officer of a tank company at FOB Hammer, Iraq, where he managed base operations and logistics support sustaining Multi-National Corps-Iraq forces, an environment where equipment readiness, fuel and supply distribution, and continuous execution were mission-critical.
